David was a warrior. And he did miraculous battles, ie. Goliath. His Love and devotion to the Father, brought him to the full understanding of his strength.

Our Lord gives us all extra power and strength when battling for the Kingdom. Learning to control those gifts and being always thankful is the challenge. David had to face that…

Job seems a bit more “look what I have done” than “thank you for your blessings” yet he remains a strong man of faith.

I found it interesting in today’s readings to consider the difference between Job’s and David’s attitudes. One seems way more humble than the other, at least in the moment.

Lets remember, “fear” as used in bible is different than our current thinking. Perhaps “the highest possible reverent respect” could approach the meaning of fear. Amen
