The themes of holiness, consecration, rest pop up throughout these chapters of Exodus. But one thing that catches my attention is God’s attention to detail.

Every time I read the first 3 chapters of Exodus, but especially the first 2 chapters, it does not cease to amaze me how God deliberately chooses to use really difficult circumstances, and messed-up people to bring about His perfect plan for His people.

This is a really great verse. It tells me that God is ready and waiting; I only need to approach Him and He will provide. I see the idea of mountain as a place of personal encounter and interaction with God. All that we will ever need has been made available in this wonderful relationship.

Honestly, I don’t think I would have acted any better than Abram and Sarai if God told me I would have a child at age 100. But God insisted until they believed, because there are no impossibilities with God.
