How DISC Shapes Your SAGE

God does not make accidents. The way you think, decide, feel, and lead is not random — it is part of how He has uniquely wired you. Scripture reminds us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). That wiring shapes not only how we relate to people, but also how we relate to responsibility, resources, and stewardship.

Christian DISC helps us understand personality. Christian SAGE helps us understand stewardship instincts. When these two frameworks come together, we begin to see something powerful: how our personality influences the way we pursue security, growth, generosity, and engagement.

This page is not about labeling you. It is about helping you see patterns — and then inviting those patterns to be surrendered to Christ. Formation happens when instinct is yielded to the Spirit. The goal is not to become someone else. The goal is to steward faithfully the way God has designed you.

How to Read This Grid

Each SAGE Driver (Security, Advancement, Generosity, Engagement) is shaped differently depending on your DISC style (Lion, Otter, Golden Retriever, Beaver). Start by identifying:

  1. Your primary SAGE Driver (Ant, Eagle, Dove, or Tortoise).

  2. Your DISC personality type.

Then find where those two intersect in the grids below.

That intersection describes how your personality expresses your stewardship instinct.

Remember:

  • Your wiring is not right or wrong.

  • Every combination has strengths.

  • Every combination has growth edges.

  • Spiritual maturity happens when instinct is surrendered to Christ.

Whether you are bold like the Lion, relational like the Otter, steady like the Golden Retriever, or precise like the Beaver; whether you lean toward Security, Advancement, Generosity, or Engagement — every instinct must be surrendered to Christ. God does not erase your design; He refines it. He redeems ambition, steadies anxiety, tempers generosity with wisdom, and turns caution into courage. As you grow in Christ, your personality and your stewardship become instruments of His grace. The goal is not to change who you are, but to allow the Holy Spirit to form who you are becoming — faithful stewards, shaped in the image of Jesus.
